but also their proper accent, phrases, figurative speeches, idioms and proverbs, taken from the best new ENGLISH DICTIONARIES. SECOND EDITION Carefully Revised, Corrected, and Considerably Augmented. Bound in modern light green library buckram with gilt spine lettering and modern endpapers. ; 8-1/2" x 11"; 739 pp; Book is complete from title page to final page but lacks original endsheets and half title. Soiling to cloth (more on the rear board than the front), first three leaves with tape repairs (including across left part of title page), resulting in minor losses of readability of no more than a few characters, a long-ago ink spill created a brown marginal stain on the last 60 pages. The text is not impacted, but the last few sheets are brittle where the ink stain is located. Scattered foxing to a few pages, but no apparent writing or ownership markings.
