New York Ethyl Corporation [1953] First Thus Hardcover Very Good+ with no dust jacket 
Company-produced keepsake reproduces "one of the rarest issues of Benjamin Franklin's press". Ethyl Corporation owned a copy of this map and "reproduced a limited number of copies of the Evans map", "made from a black-and-white original borrowed from the Library of Congress, then hand-colored to duplicate the copy in Ethyl's collection" (Preface). Map is presented together with an explanatory booklet. Each are housed loose within one of two pockets of a red red cloth portfolio. Portfolio housed within slipcase of matching red cloth having red leather spine with five raised bands, with gilt lettering on spine. Booklet is cream wraps stapled, illusrated with drawings printed in red ink. Map unfolds to appoximately 27-1/2" x 21".; 9" x 11-1/2"; Slipcase is VG+ with minor rubbing to spine and along bottom edge. Portfolio is in fine condition. Booklet is near fine with a trace of soiling. Map is in fine condition.

With Important Geographical Tables, and an extensive Pronouncing Vocabulary of Nearly Ten Thousand Names. Gray paper boards, green cloth spine, front cover with illustration. Includes 45 colored maps, some double page or full page, some inset within the page. Numbered 1 to 44, there is a Map 13 Texas and a Map 13a Michigan, Wisconsin, present and listed in the Contents.; 9-3/4" x 11-3/4"; Well worn at now rounded corners, worn at top of spine, well worn at bottom of spine including 1/2" loss of spine cover, boards rubbed with vertical line seen on front cover. Prior owner inscriptions inked on front free endpaper with a bit of blleding to text inside cover. Maps with faint foxing and soiling seen only at edges. Front hinge loose though holding well, rear hinge functioning soundly.
