This item is not dated but the 21st edition of Cavendish was published ca 1893 and the firm location at the corner of Pine and Battery Streets was destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. Printed on card stock, with rounded corners. ; 3-1/2" x 5-1/2"; 4 pp; An 1897 article in Whist magazine notes that Henry Payot was instrumental in admitting women to the San Francisco Whist Club, and that he was an excellent player. An 1897 article in the San Francisco Call notes that Mrs. Payot was also an adept player with a deep interest in the game. This item is not recorded in OCLC. ; Some damage across top margin of card from water - thinning and tiny holes, with no loss to text.
