John Wilson Croker, M.P. to which are added, Two Supplementary Volumes of Johnsoniana, by Hawkins, Piozzi, Murphy, Tyers, Reynolds, Malone, Nichols, Steevens, Cumberland, and Others. An notes by various hands. Also, upwards of Fifty Engraved Illustrations. Volumes are uniformly bound with blue leather spines and corners, marbled boards and endpapers, spines with elaborate gilt decorations and five raised bands, two brown leather spine labels with gilt lettering,top edge gilt, the aforementioned illustrations on plates, each volume separately paginated (300+ pp per volume). Heavy, extra for international postage. ; 4-1/2" x 6-3/4"; A well-preserved set. Volumes show light rubbing along edges and at top/bottom of spine, Volumes III and IV are a bit worn at spine top with tiny losses. Hinges remain solid. No inscription s. The paper for the plates has toned somewhat. The occasional spots can be found, but pages are generally clean.
