Scarce book with patterns for making mechanical toys -- the pieces are to be connected with brass fasteners or string; includes Directions for Using Patterns. Designs include several Seesaw Jointed Toys -- The Teddy Bears, Two Jolly Pigs, The Rocking Horse, Peter Rabbit, cats, dogs, Clown and His Donkey, etc, also many Mother Goose-themed toys -- The Knave of Hearts, Little Jack Horner, Humpty Dumpty, etc. Contents are chiefly pattern illustrations (with artist initials printed on each design), printed one side only with 15 pairs of pages facing each other and one final page standing alone (as does the title page). Stapled wraps with yellow illustrated cover. This item is not dated, OCLC suggests 1920 or 1918 to 1924 depending on the listing you choose. The illustrator was active from 1915 until the mid-1930s. ; 10" x 12-1/2"; Upper right corner of front cover creased, additional creases on rear cover, marginal tear to one page, stamp of School Service Company of Los Angeles to rear cover, a few spots of minor wear to pages, no writing.
